I thought it would have been nice to see the Orson's Farm characters from the Garfield & Friends cartoon that I remember watching. You start out with only Garfield and Jon to play as, but soon you unlock Odie, Liz, Nermal and a couple of others. These are sometimes slightly hidden or placed on a shortcut that you need the spring to access. There are a few puzzle pieces to collect on the track. There’s also a magic wand that allows you to switch places if your magic blast succeeds. It just seems strange because everyone is depicted as though they are asleep at the wheel, yet you can still steer. There’s a pillow which kinda acts like the lightning bolt since it slows down all opponents, but it also prevents them from power-sliding. One is a gem that you hit opponents with and they hold it for a few seconds before it explodes. There are a few ideas although the designs aren’t obvious how they function. A spring is like the feather that allows you to jump which can make you reach shortcuts, but you can also drop it on the track as a hindrance. There’s lasagne boost, homing pies, and standard pies that travel in a straight line. The track designs are decent, and the selection of weapons roughly mirrors Mario Kart as you would expect. It really makes you appreciate whatever magic Nintendo does to balance Mario Kart giving a nice spread of racers and making you feel your driving has an effect for catching up. I felt the AI would happily nudge you, and your kart seemed to be negatively affected by the collision. The AI has a tendency to hit you in the final stretch or somehow boost past you. With a couple of successive hits, you would often find yourself in last place. I found that the racers were rather bunched up which means you can easily drop from 1st to 4th place in one hit, and there’s only 6 racers. I expected the game to be easy so went straight into 100cc (second difficulty) and I was surprised at the difficulty. Garfield Kart seems to have been targeted with joke review bombs on Steam, so it's hard to gauge people’s real perception of the game. The previous iteration (without the Furious Racing addendum) is not quite as good, maybe only a billion out of ten.By Ignition_jammy | Review Date: April 26, 2021 The ancient Egyptians cleary worshipped cats because they knew this game would one day exist, the pyramids were some sort of ancient computed designed to play it. If car manufacturers like Tesla do dot remodel their cars after the ones in Garfield Kart: Furious Racing (Blessed is it’s name) they will surely go broke. If I died and my consciousness was uploaded into this game, it would be like an episode of Black Mirror but instead it would be White Mirror. If this game ever goes on sale, it would be an insult to the concept of money itself and needless to say, if anyone pirates it, they should receive capital punishment. This game should cost a highly paid professional three years salary at minimum, a blue collar worker should be able to spend his retirement savings on it and poor people should not even be able to play it, well maybe a demo if they donate blood everyday and one kidney. Hopefully, one day the three will one day merge into an indecipherable blissful haze. Hopefully, one day the three will one day merge into an In my existence there is waking life, sleeping life and Garfield Kart: Furious Racing.
